Rights of Nature: A Systemic Solution to the Climate Crisis
Baku, Azerbaijan — On November 16, panelists will bring forth calls to action for Rights of Nature, a global movement to recognize Earth’s fundamental and inviolable right to exist and thrive. This event will be a press conference organized by the Women’s Earth and Climate Action Network (WECAN) at COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Rights of Nature articulates a new legal framework and economy based on living in balance with Earth’s natural systems. Presenters will share successes from the Rights of Nature movement, and how it can offer a systemic framework for defending biodiversity, communities, and our climate.
