Global Women to Speak for Peace, Justice, and Climate Solutions at Women’s Earth and Climate Action Network COP21 Event
PARIS, France (November 30, 2015) – In an effort to raise up women’s voices to the forefront during COP21 climate negotiations, the Women’s Earth and Climate Action Network (WECAN International) will convene a dynamic event with global women leaders speaking out for climate justice and presenting their visions and strategies for a healthy and equitable world. The event will open with a welcome by a leader of the Indigenous Sami peoples of Sweden, and end with a special presentation by Indigenous women of North and South America concerning their historic treaty initiative in defense of the Earth.
